Lakeshore's Pioneer Classic

The Pioneer Classic Basketball Tournament began in 1987 as one of Lakeshore’s first athletic events. Named the Pioneer Classic in honor of the AT&T Pioneers who have supported the event since its inception the tournament has grown to be recognized as one of the premier regular season event in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA).

Inclusive Schools Week Press Release

The Inclusive Schools Network is pleased to announce the 13th Annual Inclusive Schools Week will be celebrated December 2–6, 2013, in classrooms, schools, and communities throughout the world. Inclusive Schools WeekTM (ISW) highlights and celebrates the progress schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to all students, including those who are marginalized due to disability, gender, ethnicity, geography and language. It also provides an important opportunity for educators, students, and families to discuss what else needs to be done to ensure that schools continue to improve their ability to successfully educate all children. Ratification of the Disabilities Treaty: An Opportunity to Reinforce U.S. Leadership on Disability Rights

In fact, it’s important to anyone who supports opening the world to Americans with disabilities, Americans who wish to enjoy the same opportunities as our fellow citizens to study, travel, serve, and work overseas. On Tuesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will begin considering the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Disabilities Treaty), which embodies, at the international level, the principles of non-discrimination, equality of opportunity, accessibility, and inclusion grounded in our own Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

IFC Exploratory Webinar Follow Up

The Inclusive Fitness Coalition hosted an Exploratory Webinar on October 15, 2013.  The purpose of this webinar was to introduce that the Coalition is back and ready for action!  Topics discussed included some of the re-engagement work that has been done to strengthen the Coalition along with the Coalition's strategic plan moving forward.  There were 49 individuals on the call.
