American Kinesiotherapy Association

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities::
American Kinesiotherapy Association (AKTA) is a nonprofit membership organization that advocates for the practice and education of Registered Kinesiotherapists and the underserved populations they treat. Kinesiotherapists specialize in special needs populations to deliver programs designed to reverse or minimize debilitation and to enhance the functional capacity of medically stable patients in wellness, sub-acute, or extended care settings. Kinesiotherapists take a holistic and integrated approach to healing that includes exercise, emotional and social therapies, and strategies to help a patient deal with the physical and emotional trauma associated with a prolonged recovery.
