Sabrina Cohen Foundation

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities::

The Sabrina Cohen Foundation (SCF) is a nationally recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding cutting edge research and innovative therapies that will provide a better quality of life for individuals living with paralysis.  SCF is working with the City of Miami Beach to develop a project that best meets the unique health and wellness needs of its disabled residents and visitors. The project will include; a state-of-the-art adaptive gym, a fully accessible playground for children with special needs and a dedicated beach area with improved wheelchair access and water-sport activities for persons living with disabilities due to various injuries or medical conditions. On 07/23/14, the City of Miami Beach voted unanimously to approve our plan to create the first fully modified accessible beach and adaptive playground at 64th Street and Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.

Mission and Goals of Your Organization::
Our goal is to provide equal opportunity fitness, recreation and accessibility to all Miami Beach residents and visitors, regardless of physical ability, in a truly safe and welcoming environment.
