Adapt2Achieve Regional Educational Conference

Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) through the Adapt2Achieve (A2A) Program, is offering a training conference hosted at Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama.  This conference will focus on training in nonprofit administrative topics and the sport of track and field. In addition to engaging presentations, there will be numerous opportunities for networking and sharing of best practices.

  • Technology Tools and Strategies to Maximize Fundraising
  • Technology Tools and Strategies to Effectively Manage Volunteers
  • Participant Recruitment- Youth with a Disability Focus
  • Injury Prevention in Adaptive Track and Field
  • Building Inclusive Healthy Communities through the National Center on Health, Physical Activity, and Disability 

Adaptive sports topic:

  • Running an Adaptive Track and Field Program

Lodging and Travel:

  • Complementary lodging (double occupancy) will be available at Lakeshore Foundation 4000 Ridgeway Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209
  • Hotel accommodations are available for a reduced rate of $114 per night at the Courtyard Birmingham Homewood, located 1 mile from Lakeshore Foundation. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, April 9. When reserving a room, please identify yourself as part of the Disabled Sports USA room block or click here to book.

  • The recommended airport to fly into is Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport 
  • Airport shuttles will be provided on April 30th at 12:00pm and 4:00pm and May 3rd at 7:00am and 10:00am

Conference fee:

  • $150 which includes registration, housing (double occupancy at Lakeshore Foundation) and food (3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners)
  • Chapters of DSUSA receive two complimentary registrations including meals and housing.
