Mission and Goals of Your Organization::
The mission of the Hockomock Area YMCA is to strengthen communities in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Hockomock Area YMCA created the Integration Initiative in 2004 responding to limited opportunities and increasing need for full social inclusion throughout its 15 town service area. The goal of the program is to provide fully inclusive recreational opportunities that improve social skills and self-esteem for children with disabilities, increase physical activity and independence, and enhance mutual respect among people of all abilities. YMCA programs teach values making them ideal places for individuals with disabilities to experience social inclusion and friendship.
