Amy Rauworth

Ms. Rauworth serves as the Director of Policy and Public Affairs for Lakeshore Foundation. She also works within the University of Alabama Birmingham/Lakeshore Foundation Research Collaborative where she is the Associate Director of the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). Ms. Rauworth worked with The Center on Health Promotion Research for Persons with Disabilities for 11 years which was located at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Disability and Human Development. She is a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine. Ms. Rauworth conducts Inclusive Fitness trainings nationally on behalf of the NCHPAD and specializes in accessible fitness center design. She serves on several national committees including the Paralympic Research and Sport Science Consortium, American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) F08.30 Fitness Products: WK19803 Inclusive Fitness Equipment Design Task Group, the NSF International Joint Committee on Health/Fitness Facility Standards and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) Health and Disability Workgroup. Ms. Rauworth has received funding to address the inclusion of children with disabilities in Safe Routes to School and has a strong interest in the design of healthy communities that are inclusive of people with disabilities. In addition, Ms. Rauworth has over 17 years of personal training experience, focusing on the delivery of physical activity programming for people with disabilities across the lifespan.
