Membership
Members of the executive committee of IFC include the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD), the RERC on Recreational Technologies and Exercise Physiology Benefiting Individuals with Disabilities, the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) of Great Britain, the Arc of the United States, and professionals with disabilities.
Members of the Inclusive Fitness Coalition include organizations whose background and prominence in the field of disability and/or physical activity are an excellent fit with what we are hoping to accomplish in the United States and in other countries throughout the world. We invite organizations to join IFC and support our efforts to promote inclusive opportunities in physical activity, sport and recreation for people with disabilities. As a member, you can play a formative role in calls for action and provide advice and support on issues related to inclusive physical activity.
As a member of IFC, you will receive the following benefits:
- Resources from the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD) including
- Monthly electronic newsletter
- Expert individualized consultation (toll-free hotline) on topics such as incorporating the pending U.S. Access Board Guidelines for Fitness and Recreation Facilities
- Listing on the IFC Web site (www.incfit.org) with a description of your organization and a link to your Web site
- Legislative/policy updates pertaining to the goals of the coalition
- Enhanced communication with other organizations creating a collective voice toward a common cause
