Will you be attending the 2011 APHA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC? Then join us as the Assistant Secretary for Health, Dr. Howard K. Koh, calls on the nation to take action on this decade's high priority health issues. The Healthy People 2020 Leading Health Indicators will be launched on October 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Washington Convention Center.

The 26 indicators, organized under 12 topics, were selected from the set of Healthy People 2020 objectives and align with other key priorities within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and across the Federal government. These indicators will be used to assess the health of the U.S. population over the decade, to facilitate collaboration among diverse groups and to motivate individuals and communities to take action to improve their health.
