Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the New York Tri-State Area - Programs for Children

The Charities is working to better the lives of children and their families in our community, by creating and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children in the areas of health, education, the arts, and civic and social services. RMHC is mostly interested in organizations that have a broad base of funding, a consistent management capacity to effectively execute the project, and a clear and concise plan to evaluate a project with measurable results. RMHC is also interested in specific programs that directly benefits and improves the well-being of children (ages 0 to 18 years), addresses a significant need or opportunity for a specific group of children, has a long term impact in term of replication and reach, and produces measurable results.

Eligibility: Contact Funder - To be considered for funding, an organization must be designated as not-for-profit, tax exempt charitable organization with a current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status letter on file with the Internal Revenue Service.

RMHC provides funding for specific projects that address an organization's real problems and have a measurable impact, such as start-up programs, one-time programs, capital improvement or durable equipment purchase.

It does not provide funding for day-to-day operations or general funds.  A project should directly benefits and improves the well-being of children (ages 0 to 18 years); Address significant need or opportunity for a specific group of children, have a long term impact in term of replication and reach, and produce measurable results.

RMHC does not fund:

  • Advertising or fundraising drives
  • Partisan, political or denominational programs
  • Ongoing general and administrative costs
  • Ongoing salaries and travel expenses
  • Intermediary funding agencies
  • Endowment campaigns
  • Individual funding requests
  • Medical research
