The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department builds healthy communities through parks, programs and partnerships.  They value inclusion and diversity; teamwork; commitment to employees and community through excellence and ethical actions; quality work and great customer service; healthy people; and healthy, sustainable environment; land and resources.

The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department provides year-round recreation programs for Phoenix area residents with disabilities. Whether you're interested in the high adventure of river rafting or outdoor recreation adventures the department offers programs to meet a variety of interests and abilities.

Daring Adventures is an Arizona-based four-season outdoor recreation program specifically designed to meet the needs of teens and adults with disabilities living in the Phoenix metropolitan area.  The program, which is fully integrated, offers seven different programs: adaptive kayaking, sled ice hockey, adaptive cycling, cross-country skiing, hiking, backpacking, and wilderness camping.
       
River Rampage was designed is a unique opportunity that pairs teens with disabilities and their non-disabled at risk peers in an extended wilderness setting providing opportunities to foster understanding and acceptance of differences through challenges that require group effort for success, provide the opportunity to develop bonds with positive adult role models and foster healthy risk taking.
