American Association of adaptedSPORTS Programs (AAASP)

AAASP's mission is to oversee the partnership of leaders in education and community to lay the foundations for a national network of interscholastic athletic programs for youth with physical disabilities or visual impairments.  AAASP envisions a society where sports for youth with physical disabilities is an integral part of America's
education system.

AAASP employs athletics through the award-winning adaptedSPORTS model. It is a system of sports seasons that parallels traditional interscholastic ahtletics and supports the concept that school sports are vital to the education process and the educational goals of students. AAASP prepares coaches, educators, and other professionals to
oversee the athletic development of this underserved student population through its Coaching Certification Program and the adaptedSPORTS Coaching Guidebook series.
