Meeting Materials and Handouts Power Point Slide Presentation
Background and Mission The Inclusive Fitness Coalition (IFC) was launched in 2007 with the mission "to facilitate an expanded coordination of organizations and individuals to address the complexity of personal, social, cultural, political, and economic factors that affect the participation of people with disabilities in physical activity, fitness, sports and recreation." The Coalition has grown significantly since our last meeting. A new task force focusing on policy will soon be launched to compliment our already active task forces focused on inclusion for people with disabilities in health and fitness clubs and playgrounds. Your contribution will be valuable as we develop strategies to expand the impact of the IFC by leveraging the efforts of those working toward inclusiveness in all areas of physical activity.
Purpose
Join your fellow leaders from the variety of organizations working to increase access to physical activity for youths, adults and seniors with physical, cognitive and sensory disabilities. This is an informational session to update all members on priorities, next steps, and participation strategies.
