Lauren Howard
Bio
Lauren currently works as a disability consultant. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Psychology and Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon completing her degree, Lauren worked for the North Carolina Office on Disability and Health and since that time has been very involved in many areas related to health and wellness among people with disabilities.
As a consultant, Lauren has worked locally and nationally researching and developing training and resource materials related to health and wellness, physical activity, disability awareness, accessibility, and community involvement. Her work as a consultant has also involved project development and grant writing. Lauren has served on numerous advisory committees, boards, and technical review panels.
Sports and recreation has always been an important part of Lauren's life. She was a member of the 1996 Paralympic Team and Bronze medalist in Equestrian events. She loves riding her horse, handcycling, tennis, jetskiing, and playing outdoors with her two boys.
