NWBA’s core values serve as a guide in achieving the vision and mission of the organization.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association:

  • Values unequivocal excellence in all aspects of the organization.
  • Strives for excellence with integrity and respect.
  • Recognizes a rich tradition as a solid foundation.
  • Celebrates the development of individual members and the community.
  • Believes in the pursuit of competitive excellence always.

The NWBA strives to be the model sport governing body by creating a fiscally stable environment and making sound fiscal decisions, establishing governance best practices and creating a professional, effective and efficient management structure and environment. The NWBA Junior Division works to help education students, families and professionals on the benefits of sport and exercise for students with physical disabilities.  The NWBA Junior Division also works with local communities around the country in organizing practices and competitive wheelchair basketball opportunities.
