The Säjai® Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching children why to value and how to live a healthier life by encouraging them to experience the outdoors, to be active and to make smart nutrition decisions. The Säjai® Foundation’s vision is to create positive community-level changes in childhood obesity so that the following can be said:

  • Active, healthy living is an integral part of who kids are, not just what they do.
  • Kids appreciate, respect and are involved with nature.
  • Youth leaders and organizations are empowered with tools and resources to help them become more effective role models and mentors for healthy living and getting outdoors with the kids and families they serve.
  • Families are allies to promote the concepts of healthy living and exploring the outdoors with their children.
  • The broader community is a partner to make a profound difference in the lives of children and the communities by providing local experiences that teach children that healthy living is important and fun.

To date, the foundation has partnered with many youth-serving agencies to provide curriculum that teaches kids about healthy living via good nutrition, physical activity, and exploring the outdoors.
