South Shore YMCA

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities:: 

The South Shore YMCA is a not-for-profit association of individuals dedicated to improving the quality of life for all through programs that promote healthy spirit, mind, and body. Rooted in Christian tradition and values, the YMCA seeks to serve all people regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or economic circumstances. The programs and services strive to strengthen the family, guide the youth of today and meet the ever-changing needs of the community.

The South Shore YMCA recognizes the importantance of including community members with physical disabilities when purchasing equipment and creating fitness programs at area facilities. The Partnership Program is an individualized exercise program designed specifically for persons with physical disabilities. The program serves individuals that need specialized equipment and/or one-on-one assistance to exercise.  Assistance is provided by volunteer instructors.

With facilities serving 55,000 people of all ages and abilities, collaboration with many local agencies enables the South Shore YMCA to provide the best of services to an ever-changing community.
