World Sport Chicago

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities::

World Sport Chicago specializes in sports for people with physical disabilities. This is done through a combined effort of training coaches to work with athletes of all abilities and reaching out to kids with physical disabilities in order to connect them to existing programs and resources for sport and recreation. With a focus on promoting the Olympic ideals of education, athlete health, fitness and well-being through each program, World Sport Chicago hopes to help each child in Chicago recognize that there is a sport to meet their interests and abilities.

The organization is working hard to increase the visibility of Olympic and Paralympic sport in Chicago by bringing a wide variety of sporting events to the city. By establishing new sports programs and strengthening existing programs, World Sport Chicago is introducing Chicago's youth to the fun and benefits of sport. Youth also begin to understand  the characteristics of fair play, teamwork, respect and leadership through these programs.
